Artist Info
Francesca Lombardi Mazzulli is a renowned Italian soprano who has made a name for herself in the world of classical music. Born in Bologna, Italy, on May 22, 1978, Mazzulli grew up in a family of musicians. Her father was a pianist, and her mother was a singer, so it was only natural that she would develop a love for music at a young age. Mazzulli began her musical training at the age of six, studying piano and singing. She later attended the Conservatory of Music in Bologna, where she studied voice under the guidance of soprano Luciana Serra. After completing her studies, Mazzulli began performing in operas and concerts throughout Italy. In 2001, Mazzulli made her international debut at the Festival della Valle d'Itria in Martina Franca, Italy, where she performed the role of Euridice in Gluck's Orfeo ed Euridice. Her performance was well-received, and she was soon invited to perform in other festivals and concerts throughout Europe. Over the years, Mazzulli has performed in some of the world's most prestigious opera houses, including La Scala in Milan, the Royal Opera House in London, and the Teatro Real in Madrid. She has also collaborated with some of the world's most renowned conductors, including Riccardo Muti, Daniel Barenboim, and Zubin Mehta. One of Mazzulli's most notable performances was in 2007, when she performed the role of Cleopatra in Handel's Giulio Cesare at the Glyndebourne Festival Opera in England. Her performance was widely praised, and she was awarded the prestigious "Glyndebourne Opera Cup" for her outstanding performance. In addition to her opera performances, Mazzulli is also a sought-after concert singer. She has performed in numerous concerts and recitals throughout Europe, singing works by composers such as Mozart, Schubert, and Brahms. Mazzulli's talent and hard work have not gone unnoticed, and she has received numerous awards and accolades throughout her career. In addition to the Glyndebourne Opera Cup, she has been awarded the "Premio Abbiati" by the Italian National Association of Music Critics, the "Premio Franco Abbiati" by the Italian Music Critics Association, and the "Premio della Critica Musicale Franco Abbiati" by the Italian Music Critics Association. Despite her success, Mazzulli remains humble and dedicated to her craft. She continues to work hard and strive for excellence in every performance, and her passion for music is evident in every note she sings.More....
