She was the daughter of a music teacher and grew up in a family that was passionate about music. Her father recognized her talent at an early age and encouraged her to pursue a career in music. Maragliano began her musical training at the age of six, studying piano and singing. She made her debut as a soprano at the age of 16, performing in a local production of Verdi's "La Traviata." Her performance was well-received, and she was encouraged to pursue a career in opera. In 1941, Maragliano made her professional debut at the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa, singing the role of Mimi in Puccini's "La Boheme." Her performance was a huge success, and she quickly became a rising star in the world of opera. Over the next few years, Maragliano performed in several major opera houses throughout Italy, including La Scala in Milan and the Teatro San Carlo in Naples. She also began to gain international recognition, performing in Paris, London, and New York. One of Maragliano's most memorable performances was in 1949, when she sang the role of Violetta in a production of "La Traviata" at La Scala. Her performance was so powerful that the audience gave her a 45-minute standing ovation. Maragliano continued to perform throughout the 1950s and 1960s, becoming one of the most celebrated sopranos of her time.
