He was the son of a Russian mother and a German father, both of whom were musicians. Jenner's father was a violinist, and his mother was a pianist. From a young age, Jenner showed a keen interest in music, and his parents encouraged him to pursue his passion. Jenner began his formal music education at the age of six, studying piano with his mother. He later studied with several renowned pianists, including Artur Schnabel, Edwin Fischer, and Walter Gieseking. Jenner's talent and dedication to music were evident from an early age, and he quickly gained recognition as a prodigy. In 1932, Jenner made his debut as a soloist with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, performing Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 3. The performance was a resounding success, and Jenner was hailed as a rising star in the classical music world. He went on to perform with many other orchestras throughout Europe, including the Vienna Philharmonic, the London Philharmonic, and the Paris Symphony Orchestra. During World War II, Jenner served in the German army as a medic. After the war, he resumed his music career and became a sought-after performer and recording artist. He recorded many of the major works of the classical piano repertoire, including the complete sonatas of Beethoven, Mozart, and Schubert. In addition to his performing career, Jenner was also a dedicated music educator. He taught at several prestigious music schools, including the Hochschule für Musik in Berlin and the Mozarteum in Salzburg. Jenner was known for his rigorous teaching methods and his ability to inspire his students to achieve their full potential. Jenner's contributions to the classical music world were recognized with numerous awards and honors. In 1964, he was awarded the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany, one of the country's highest civilian honors. He was also awarded the Mozart Medal by the International Mozarteum Foundation in 1974. Throughout his career, Jenner remained committed to promoting classical music and inspiring future generations of musicians. He continued to perform and teach until his death on February 13, 1985, in Salzburg, Austria.
