Marianne Piketty is a French classical music artist who has made a name for herself as a violinist and conductor. Born in 1976 in Paris, France, Piketty grew up in a family of musicians. Her father was a cellist and her mother was a pianist, so it was only natural that she would develop a love for music at a young age. Piketty began playing the violin when she was just four years old, and by the time she was a teenager, she was already performing in public. She studied at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris, where she honed her skills as a violinist and conductor. In 1998, Piketty won first prize at the International Violin Competition of Sion-Valais in Switzerland, which launched her career as a soloist. She has since performed with many of the world's leading orchestras, including the Orchestre National de France, the London Symphony Orchestra, and the Berlin Philharmonic. One of the highlights of Piketty's career was her performance of Bach's complete works for solo violin at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris in 2013. The performance was a marathon event that lasted over 24 hours, and it was hailed as a triumph by critics and audiences alike. Piketty is also known for her work as a conductor. She has conducted many of the world's leading orchestras, including the Orchestre National de France, the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, and the Orchestre de Chambre de Paris. In 2016, she was appointed as the artistic director of the Orchestre de Chambre de Paris, becoming the first woman to hold the position. In addition to her work as a performer and conductor, Piketty is also a teacher. She has taught at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris and the Haute École de Musique de Genève, and she has given masterclasses around the world. Piketty has received many awards and honors throughout her career. In addition to her win at the International Violin Competition of Sion-Valais, she has been awarded the Prix de la Fondation Simone et Cino Del Duca and the Prix de la Fondation Charles Oulmont. She was also made a Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French government in 2014. Despite her many accomplishments, Piketty remains humble and dedicated to her craft. She continues to perform, conduct, and teach, and she is always looking for new ways to explore and share her love of music with others.
