The Vilumanis Choir is a classical music ensemble that has been captivating audiences with their stunning performances for over 50 years. The choir was founded in 1969 in Riga, Latvia, by conductor and composer Jāzeps Vītols. The choir was named after the Vilumanis River, which flows through the town of Cēsis, where Vītols was born. The Vilumanis Choir quickly gained a reputation for their exceptional vocal abilities and their ability to perform a wide range of classical music genres. They have performed in numerous concerts and festivals throughout Latvia and Europe, and have received critical acclaim for their performances. One of the highlights of the Vilumanis Choir's career was their performance at the 1972 World Choir Games in Vienna, Austria. The choir won first place in the mixed choir category, and their performance was praised for its precision, clarity, and emotional depth. Over the years, the Vilumanis Choir has continued to perform at major music festivals and events around the world. They have performed at the Latvian Song and Dance Festival, the Riga Opera Festival, and the International Baltic Sea Festival, among others.
