She was born on September 22, 1956, in Sofia, Bulgaria, to a family of musicians. Her father, Konstantin Jordanov, was a well-known Bulgarian composer, and her mother, Maria Jordanova, was a pianist. Krassimira grew up in a musical environment and started singing at a young age. Krassimira Jordan began her formal music education at the Bulgarian State Conservatory in Sofia, where she studied under the guidance of Professor Lyubomir Pipkov. She graduated with honors in 1979 and went on to pursue further studies at the Moscow Conservatory in Russia. There, she studied with Professor Vera Garina and graduated with a master's degree in vocal performance in 1984. Krassimira Jordan's career as a professional opera singer began in 1984 when she joined the Sofia National Opera. She quickly established herself as one of the leading sopranos in Bulgaria and performed in numerous productions, including "La Traviata," "Don Giovanni," and "Tosca." Her performances were highly acclaimed, and she received several awards for her outstanding vocal abilities. In 1987, Krassimira Jordan won the prestigious International Singing Competition in Toulouse, France, which marked a turning point in her career. Her victory at the competition brought her international recognition and opened doors for her to perform in some of the world's most renowned opera houses. Krassimira Jordan's international career took off in the late 1980s when she began performing in Europe and the United States. She made her debut at the Royal Opera House in London in 1988, where she performed the role of Violetta in "La Traviata." Her performance was highly praised, and she was invited to perform in several other productions at the Royal Opera House. Krassimira Jordan's career continued to flourish in the 1990s, and she became a regular performer at the Metropolitan Opera in New York City. She made her debut at the Met in 1991, where she performed the role of Mimi in "La Boheme."
