Benedicte Elnes is a Norwegian classical music artist who has made a name for herself as a soprano singer. She was born on May 22, 1983, in Trondheim, Norway, to a family of musicians. Her father was a conductor, and her mother was a pianist. Benedicte grew up in a musical environment and started singing at a young age. Benedicte's musical journey began when she joined the Trondheim Cathedral Girls' Choir at the age of seven. She quickly became a standout member of the choir and was soon selected to perform solo pieces. Her talent was evident, and she continued to hone her skills as a singer. In 2001, Benedicte enrolled at the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo, where she studied under the tutelage of renowned vocal coach, Svein Bjørkøy. She graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Music in 2005 and went on to pursue a Master's degree in Music at the same institution. During her time at the Norwegian Academy of Music, Benedicte participated in several competitions and won numerous awards. In 2003, she won the prestigious Ljunggrenska Competition in Sweden, which is open to singers from all over the world. She also won the Norwegian National Singing Competition in 2004 and the Queen Sonja International Music Competition in 2005. Benedicte's talent as a soprano singer was recognized by many, and she was invited to perform at several major events. In 2006, she was invited to perform at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert in Oslo, where she sang alongside artists such as Lionel Richie and Andrea Bocelli. She also performed at the opening ceremony of the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, Canada. Benedicte has performed with several orchestras and conductors, including the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra, the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Trondheim Symphony Orchestra. She has also collaborated with renowned conductors such as Eivind Aadland, Andrew Litton, and Christian Eggen. In addition to her performances, Benedicte has also recorded several albums. Her debut album, "Benedicte Elnes," was released in 2007 and featured a collection of classical pieces. She has since released several other albums, including "Nordic Romance" and "Ave Maria." Benedicte's talent as a soprano singer has been recognized by many, and she has received numerous awards and accolades throughout her career. In 2011, she was awarded the prestigious Statoil Talent Award, which is given to young Norwegian artists who show exceptional talent and promise.
