Runaway Trio is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 2015 by three talented musicians, pianist Anna Petrova, violinist Mikhail Simonyan, and cellist Alexander Buzlov. The trio has quickly gained recognition for their exceptional musicianship and unique approach to classical music. Anna Petrova, the pianist of the group, was born in Moscow and began playing the piano at the age of five. She studied at the Moscow State Conservatory and later at the Royal College of Music in London. Petrova has won numerous awards and competitions, including the International Piano Competition in Senigallia, Italy, and the International Piano Competition in Valencia, Spain. Mikhail Simonyan, the violinist of the group, was born in Novosibirsk, Russia, and began playing the violin at the age of three. He studied at the Moscow State Conservatory and later at the Juilliard School in New York. Simonyan has performed with some of the world's leading orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra, the Mariinsky Orchestra, and the New York Philharmonic. Alexander Buzlov, the cellist of the group, was born in Moscow and began playing the cello at the age of six. He studied at the Moscow State Conservatory and later at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin. Buzlov has won numerous awards and competitions, including the International Tchaikovsky Competition and the International Johannes Brahms Competition. The three musicians first met in Moscow and quickly realized that they shared a passion for classical music and a desire to create something new and exciting. They formed Runaway Trio with the goal of exploring the boundaries of classical music and bringing their unique perspective to audiences around the world. Since their formation, Runaway Trio has performed at some of the world's most prestigious concert halls, including Carnegie Hall in New York, the Royal Albert Hall in London, and the Berlin Philharmonic. They have also collaborated with some of the world's leading musicians, including pianist Lang Lang and conductor Valery Gergiev. One of the highlights of Runaway Trio's career was their performance at the 2018 BBC Proms, one of the world's largest classical music festivals. The trio performed a program of works by Beethoven, Brahms, and Shostakovich to critical acclaim, with The Guardian describing their performance as "thrilling and deeply moving." In addition to their performances, Runaway Trio has also released several recordings, including their debut album, "Runaway," which features works by Beethoven, Brahms, and Rachmaninoff. The album received widespread critical acclaim, with Gramophone magazine describing it as "a stunning debut from a trio that is sure to make waves in the classical music world." Runaway Trio has also been recognized for their exceptional musicianship with several awards and honors.
