Araksya Yeshayevna Mansurian is a renowned classical music artist who has made a significant contribution to the world of music. Born on August 29, 1947, in Yerevan, Armenia, Mansurian grew up in a family of musicians. Her father, Yeshayahu Mansurian, was a composer, and her mother, Armine Mansurian, was a pianist. From a young age, Mansurian showed a keen interest in music and began studying the piano at the age of six. Mansurian's talent was evident from the beginning, and she quickly became a prodigy. She won her first competition at the age of eight and went on to win numerous awards and accolades throughout her career. In 1965, she graduated from the Tchaikovsky Music School in Yerevan and continued her studies at the Moscow Conservatory, where she studied under the renowned pianist and teacher, Yakov Flier. Mansurian's career as a concert pianist began in the early 1970s, and she quickly gained a reputation as one of the most talented pianists of her generation. She made her debut with the Armenian Philharmonic Orchestra in 1972, performing Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 3. The performance was a huge success, and Mansurian was praised for her technical skill and musicality. Over the years, Mansurian has performed with some of the world's most prestigious orchestras, including the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra, the St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra, the London Symphony Orchestra, and the New York Philharmonic. She has also collaborated with many renowned conductors, including Valery Gergiev, Yuri Temirkanov, and Zubin Mehta. Mansurian's repertoire is vast and includes works by some of the greatest composers in history, such as Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, Mozart, and Rachmaninoff. She is particularly known for her interpretations of the works of Armenian composers, including Aram Khachaturian, Alexander Arutiunian, and Tigran Mansurian (no relation). In addition to her career as a concert pianist, Mansurian is also a respected teacher. She has taught at the Yerevan State Conservatory since 1975 and has trained many talented young pianists who have gone on to successful careers in music. Throughout her career, Mansurian has received numerous awards and honors. In 1986, she was awarded the title of Honored Artist of the Armenian SSR, and in 1996, she was awarded the title of People's Artist of Armenia. She has also been awarded the Movses Khorenatsi Medal, the highest civilian honor in Armenia, and the Order of St. Mesrop Mashtots, the highest cultural award in Armenia. Mansurian's contributions to the world of music have been significant, and she has inspired countless musicians and music lovers around the world. Her technical skill, musicality, and passion for music have made her one of the most respected and beloved classical music artists of our time.
