Artist Info
Lisandro Abadie is a renowned classical music artist who has made a name for himself in the world of opera and baroque music. Born in Montevideo, Uruguay, in 1976, Abadie grew up in a family of musicians and was exposed to music from a very young age. His father was a composer and conductor, and his mother was a singer, so it was only natural that Abadie would follow in their footsteps. Abadie began his musical training at the age of six, studying piano and singing in the choir at his local church. He later went on to study at the National Conservatory of Music in Montevideo, where he focused on voice and early music. During his time at the conservatory, Abadie discovered his love for baroque music and began to specialize in this genre. After completing his studies in Uruguay, Abadie moved to Europe to further his musical education. He studied at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis in Switzerland, where he received a diploma in baroque singing. He also studied with renowned baroque music specialists such as René Jacobs and Andreas Scholl. Abadie's career as a professional musician began in the early 2000s, when he started performing in operas and concerts throughout Europe. He quickly gained a reputation as a talented baritone with a unique voice and a deep understanding of baroque music. One of Abadie's most notable performances was in the 2004 production of Handel's "Giulio Cesare" at the Glyndebourne Festival in England. Abadie played the role of Tolomeo, a treacherous Egyptian prince, and his performance was widely praised by critics and audiences alike. The production was later released on DVD, further cementing Abadie's reputation as a rising star in the world of opera. Abadie has also performed with some of the world's leading baroque music ensembles, including Les Arts Florissants, the Academy of Ancient Music, and the Freiburg Baroque Orchestra. He has appeared in concerts and festivals throughout Europe, Asia, and the Americas, and has collaborated with many of the world's most renowned conductors and musicians. In addition to his performances, Abadie is also a respected teacher and scholar of baroque music. He has taught at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis and the Royal Conservatory of The Hague, and has given masterclasses and lectures at universities and music schools around the world. He has also published articles and essays on baroque music and performance practice, and is considered an authority on the subject. Abadie's talent and dedication to his craft have earned him numerous awards and accolades throughout his career. In 2005, he was awarded the prestigious Prix de la Fondation Royaumont, which recognizes outstanding young musicians in the field of early music. He has also been nominated for several Grammy Awards for his recordings, including a nomination in 2015 for his album "Amor, Roma," which features music by Monteverdi and other Italian composers. Despite his success, Abadie remains humble and dedicated to his art. He continues to perform and teach, and is always looking for new ways to explore and interpret baroque music. His passion and talent have made him one of the most respected and sought-after baroque music artists of his generation, and his contributions to the field will undoubtedly continue to inspire and influence future generations of musicians.More....
