He was a renowned pianist, conductor, and composer who made significant contributions to the world of classical music. Wewel's love for music began at a young age, and he started playing the piano when he was just six years old. He received his formal music education at the Berlin University of the Arts, where he studied under the tutelage of renowned pianist and composer, Walter Gieseking. After completing his studies, Wewel embarked on a successful career as a concert pianist, performing in some of the most prestigious concert halls around the world. He was known for his virtuosic performances and his ability to bring out the nuances of the music he played. In addition to his work as a pianist, Wewel was also a talented conductor and composer. He conducted many orchestras throughout his career, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the Vienna Philharmonic, and the London Symphony Orchestra. One of the highlights of Wewel's career was his performance at the Salzburg Festival in 1965.
