Birth:March 6, 1989 in TaiwanRay Chen is a Taiwanese-Australian violinist who has gained international recognition for his virtuosic performances and engaging stage presence. Born on March 6, 1989, in Taipei, Taiwan, Chen began playing the violin at the age of four. His family moved to Australia when he was eight years old, and he continued his musical studies there. Chen's talent was evident from a young age, and he quickly began winning competitions and awards. In 1995, he won first prize in the Australian National Youth Concerto Competition, and in 1997, he won the Queensland Young Instrumentalist Competition. He went on to win numerous other competitions, including the Yehudi Menuhin International Competition for Young Violinists in 2008. Chen's career took off in 2009, when he won the Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels, one of the most prestigious violin competitions in the world. One of Chen's most notable performances was his debut with the London Philharmonic Orchestra in 2010, where he performed the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto under the baton of Vladimir Jurowski.
