Oficina Musicum is a classical music ensemble that has been captivating audiences with their unique sound and style for over a decade. The group was founded in 2008 by a group of talented musicians who shared a passion for early music and historical performance practices. The ensemble's founding members included soprano Ana Arnaz, tenor Juan Carlos Rivera, and instrumentalists Juan Manuel Rubio on the viola da gamba and Juan Carlos de Mulder on the lute. Together, they set out to explore the rich and diverse repertoire of early music, from the medieval period to the Baroque era. Over the years, Oficina Musicum has grown and evolved, adding new members and expanding their repertoire to include music from other periods and styles. Today, the ensemble consists of a core group of six musicians, including Arnaz, Rivera, Rubio, de Mulder, and two additional instrumentalists, Pedro Estevan on percussion and Fahmi Alqhai on the viola da gamba. One of the highlights of Oficina Musicum's career was their performance at the prestigious Festival de Música Antigua de Úbeda y Baeza in 2010. The festival, which takes place in the historic cities of Úbeda and Baeza in southern Spain, is one of the most important early music festivals in the world, and attracts top performers and ensembles from around the globe. Oficina Musicum's performance at the festival was a resounding success, earning them critical acclaim and a growing fan base. The ensemble's unique blend of vocal and instrumental music, combined with their impeccable musicianship and attention to historical detail, set them apart from other early music ensembles and established them as one of the leading groups in the field. Since their debut at the Festival de Música Antigua de Úbeda y Baeza, Oficina Musicum has gone on to perform at other major festivals and venues throughout Europe and beyond. They have also released several critically acclaimed recordings, including their debut album, "Canciones y Danzas de España," which features music from the Spanish Renaissance and Baroque periods. In addition to their performances and recordings, Oficina Musicum is also committed to education and outreach. The ensemble regularly conducts workshops and masterclasses for students and aspiring musicians, sharing their knowledge and expertise in early music and historical performance practices.
