Artist Info
Delphine Biron was born on May 12, 1985, in Paris, France. She grew up in a family of musicians, with her mother being a pianist and her father a cellist. From a young age, Delphine showed a natural talent for music and began playing the violin at the age of four. Delphine's parents recognized her talent and encouraged her to pursue a career in music. She began taking lessons with renowned violinists in France and quickly gained recognition for her exceptional skills. At the age of 12, Delphine won first prize in the prestigious Concours National des Jeunes Violonistes, a national competition for young violinists in France. After her success in the competition, Delphine was invited to perform with several orchestras in France and Europe. She made her debut with the Orchestre National de France at the age of 14, playing the Mendelssohn Violin Concerto. Her performance was met with critical acclaim, and she was hailed as a rising star in the classical music world. Delphine continued to perform with orchestras throughout Europe and the United States, including the London Symphony Orchestra, the Berlin Philharmonic, and the New York Philharmonic. She also performed at major music festivals, such as the Salzburg Festival and the BBC Proms. In addition to her performances with orchestras, Delphine also established herself as a soloist and chamber musician. She formed a string quartet with three other musicians, and they performed together for several years, earning praise for their innovative interpretations of classical works. Delphine's talent and hard work were recognized with numerous awards and honors throughout her career. She won the International Violin Competition of Indianapolis in 2005, and the Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels in 2008. She was also awarded the prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant in 2010, which recognizes outstanding young musicians and provides financial support for their careers. Despite her success, Delphine remained humble and dedicated to her craft. She continued to practice for hours every day, always striving to improve her technique and interpretation of classical works. She also gave back to the community by teaching young musicians and volunteering at music schools and programs for underprivileged children. Tragically, Delphine's promising career was cut short when she was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer in 2013. She underwent several rounds of treatment, but ultimately succumbed to the disease on June 15, 2014, at the age of 29. Delphine's death was a great loss to the classical music world, but her legacy lives on through her recordings and the memories of those who knew and loved her. She will always be remembered as a talented and passionate musician who brought joy and beauty to the world through her music.More....
