Born on December 28, 1985, in Budapest, Hungary, Horgas began playing the violin at the age of five. She showed exceptional talent and was soon accepted into the prestigious Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, where she studied under the guidance of renowned violinists such as Vilmos Szabadi and Eszter Perényi. During her studies, Horgas won several awards and competitions, including the National Violin Competition in Hungary and the International Violin Competition in Kloster Schöntal, Germany. She also participated in masterclasses with world-famous violinists such as Maxim Vengerov, Zakhar Bron, and Shlomo Mintz, which helped her refine her technique and musical expression. After completing her studies at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music, Horgas continued her education at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, Austria, where she earned a Master of Arts degree in violin performance. During her time in Vienna, she also had the opportunity to perform with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra and the Vienna Symphony Orchestra, which further enhanced her reputation as a rising star in the classical music world. Horgas has since performed as a soloist with numerous orchestras around the world, including the Budapest Festival Orchestra, the Vienna Chamber Orchestra, the Moscow State Symphony Orchestra, and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in London. She has also given recitals in major concert halls such as the Carnegie Hall in New York, the Royal Albert Hall in London, and the Musikverein in Vienna. One of Horgas's most notable performances was her debut at the Salzburg Festival in 2012, where she performed the Violin Concerto No. 1 by Max Bruch with the Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg under the baton of Ivor Bolton. Her performance was praised by critics for its technical brilliance and emotional depth, and it cemented her reputation as one of the most promising young violinists of her generation. In addition to her solo career, Horgas is also an active chamber musician and has collaborated with many renowned artists, including pianist András Schiff, cellist Mischa Maisky, and violinist Pinchas Zukerman. She is a member of the Horgas-Passinakos Duo, which she formed with her husband, Greek pianist Dimitris Passinakos. The duo has performed extensively throughout Europe and Asia and has released several critically acclaimed recordings.
