Julian Alexander Smith was born on May 15, 1985, in London, England. He was raised in a family of musicians, with his mother being a pianist and his father a cellist. From a young age, Julian showed a natural talent for music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Julian's parents recognized his talent and encouraged him to pursue a career in music. He began taking piano lessons with renowned pianist, Maria João Pires, at the age of six. Under her tutelage, Julian developed a deep understanding and appreciation for classical music. At the age of 12, Julian made his debut performance at the Royal Albert Hall in London. He played Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 21 in C major, K. 467, to a standing ovation. This performance marked the beginning of Julian's career as a classical pianist. Julian continued to study under Maria João Pires and went on to attend the Royal Academy of Music in London. He graduated with honors and was awarded the prestigious Queen's Commendation for Excellence in recognition of his outstanding achievements. Throughout his career, Julian has performed at some of the world's most renowned concert halls, including Carnegie Hall in New York, the Royal Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, and the Berlin Philharmonic. One of Julian's most memorable performances was his rendition of Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 5 in E-flat major, Op. 73, also known as the "Emperor" concerto.
