Born on May 12, 1985, in London, England, Bassett showed an early interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of five. His parents, who were both music enthusiasts, encouraged him to pursue his passion for music, and he began taking piano lessons at a young age. Bassett's talent and dedication to music were evident from an early age, and he quickly became a prodigy. He won his first piano competition at the age of eight and went on to win several more competitions throughout his childhood and teenage years. His exceptional talent and hard work earned him a scholarship to study at the Royal Academy of Music in London, where he received a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance. After completing his studies at the Royal Academy of Music, Bassett began his professional career as a concert pianist. He quickly gained recognition for his exceptional talent and was invited to perform at some of the world's most prestigious concert halls, including Carnegie Hall in New York, the Royal Albert Hall in London, and the Berlin Philharmonic. Bassett's performances were always highly anticipated, and he never failed to impress his audiences with his technical skill and emotional depth. He was particularly known for his interpretations of the works of Beethoven, Chopin, and Liszt, and his performances of these composers' works were often described as transcendent. In addition to his solo performances, Bassett also collaborated with some of the world's leading orchestras and conductors. He performed with the London Symphony Orchestra, the Berlin Philharmonic, and the New York Philharmonic, among others. His collaborations with conductors such as Sir Simon Rattle and Daniel Barenboim were particularly noteworthy, and he was praised for his ability to work seamlessly with these great musicians. Bassett's talent and hard work were recognized with numerous awards and honors throughout his career. He won the prestigious Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in 2005, which is considered one of the most prestigious piano competitions in the world.
