Birth:1981 in Seoul, South KoreaJinsang Lee is a South Korean classical music artist who has made a name for himself as a pianist and composer. Born on December 22, 1989, in Seoul, South Korea, Jinsang showed an early interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of five. His parents recognized his talent and encouraged him to pursue his passion for music. Jinsang's musical education began at the Yewon School, a prestigious music school in Seoul, where he studied piano under the guidance of Professor Hyeon-Sook Lee. He later attended the Seoul Arts High School, where he continued his piano studies with Professor Hyeon-Sook Lee and Professor Young-Joo Lee. During his time at the Seoul Arts High School, Jinsang won numerous awards and competitions, including the Grand Prize at the 2006 Seoul Arts High School Piano Competition. After graduating from high school, Jinsang continued his musical education at the Seoul National University, where he studied piano with Professor Daejin Kim. He also studied composition with Professor Young-Shin Kim and Professor Sukhi Kang. During his time at the Seoul National University, Jinsang won several awards and competitions, including the Grand Prize at the 2011 Seoul National University Piano Competition. In 2012, Jinsang moved to the United States to further his musical education. He enrolled in the Master of Music program at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, where he studied piano with Professor Wha-Kyung Byun. He also studied composition with Professor Michael Gandolfi and Professor John Heiss. During his time at the New England Conservatory of Music, Jinsang won several awards and competitions, including the Grand Prize at the 2014 New England Conservatory Piano Competition. Jinsang's talent as a pianist and composer has been recognized by many prestigious organizations. In 2015, he was awarded the Jack Kent Cooke Graduate Arts Award, which is given to outstanding graduate students in the arts. In 2016, he was awarded the Paul and Daisy Soros Fellowship for New Americans, which is given to outstanding immigrants and children of immigrants who are pursuing graduate studies in the United States. Jinsang has performed in many prestigious venues around the world, including Carnegie Hall in New York, the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., and the Seoul Arts Center in Seoul, South Korea. He has also performed as a soloist with many orchestras, including the Boston Pops Orchestra, the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, and the New England Conservatory Symphony Orchestra. Jinsang's compositions have been performed by many renowned musicians and ensembles, including the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the Boston Modern Orchestra Project, and the Daedalus Quartet. His music has been featured in many festivals and concerts around the world, including the Tanglewood Music Festival, the Aspen Music Festival, and the New Music Festival in Seoul, South Korea. Jinsang's music is known for its unique blend of classical and contemporary styles. He draws inspiration from a wide range of musical genres, including jazz, pop, and traditional Korean music. His compositions often feature complex rhythms, intricate harmonies, and unconventional forms. In addition to his work as a pianist and composer, Jinsang is also a dedicated teacher.
