Karl began his musical journey at the age of six when he started taking piano lessons. He showed exceptional talent and quickly progressed, impressing his teachers and family with his skills. At the age of ten, he started playing the violin and fell in love with the instrument. He continued to study both the piano and the violin, and by the age of 16, he had already performed in several concerts. In 1966, Karl enrolled at the Munich Conservatory, where he studied under the guidance of renowned violinist and pedagogue, Max Rostal. He graduated with honors in 1970 and went on to pursue a career as a soloist and chamber musician. Karl's talent and dedication to music soon caught the attention of the classical music world, and he was invited to perform in several prestigious venues across Europe and the United States. In 1972, he made his debut at the Berlin Philharmonic, where he performed Mozart's Violin Concerto No. 5. The performance was a huge success, and Karl received critical acclaim for his virtuosity and musicality. He collaborated with some of the most celebrated conductors and orchestras, including Herbert von Karajan, Claudio Abbado, and the Berlin Philharmonic. Karl's repertoire was vast and included works by some of the greatest composers in history, such as Bach, Beethoven, Brahms, Mozart, and Tchaikovsky. He was particularly known for his interpretations of the works of Bach and Mozart, which he performed with great sensitivity and depth. In addition to his solo career, Karl was also a passionate chamber musician and collaborated with some of the most renowned ensembles of his time. He was a member of the Munich Chamber Orchestra and the Amadeus Quartet, with whom he performed extensively throughout Europe and the United States.
