Stella Zambalis is a renowned classical music artist who has made a significant impact in the world of opera. Born in Chicago, Illinois, on August 22, 1957, Zambalis grew up in a family of musicians. Her father, George Zambalis, was a well-known tenor, and her mother, Mary Zambalis, was a pianist. From a young age, Zambalis was exposed to classical music and began singing in her church choir. Zambalis attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance. She then went on to study at the Juilliard School in New York City, where she received a Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance. Zambalis made her professional debut in 1982, singing the role of Mimi in Puccini's La Bohème with the New York City Opera. This performance marked the beginning of a successful career that would span over three decades. Zambalis quickly gained recognition for her powerful voice and dramatic stage presence, and she became a sought-after performer in the world of opera. Throughout her career, Zambalis has performed in some of the world's most prestigious opera houses, including the Metropolitan Opera, the Royal Opera House in London, and the Teatro alla Scala in Milan.
