Trio Lirico is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 2003 by three talented musicians: violinist Maria Bachmann, cellist Yehuda Hanani, and pianist Jon Klibonoff. The trio has gained a reputation for their passionate and dynamic performances, which showcase their individual virtuosity as well as their seamless ensemble playing. Maria Bachmann, the founder and first violinist of Trio Lirico, is a highly acclaimed musician who has performed as a soloist with major orchestras around the world. She has also been a member of several prestigious chamber ensembles, including the Bachmann-Klibonoff-Fridman Trio and the Daedalus Quartet. Yehuda Hanani, the cellist of the trio, is also a renowned soloist and chamber musician who has collaborated with many of the world's leading orchestras and conductors. Jon Klibonoff, the pianist, is a versatile musician who has performed as a soloist and chamber musician in venues ranging from Carnegie Hall to jazz clubs. The three musicians first met in the early 2000s, when they were all performing at the Great Lakes Chamber Music Festival in Michigan. They quickly discovered a shared passion for chamber music and decided to form their own ensemble. They chose the name Trio Lirico, which means "lyric trio" in Italian, to reflect their commitment to playing music that is both beautiful and expressive. Since its founding, Trio Lirico has performed extensively throughout the United States and abroad, earning critical acclaim for their performances and recordings. They have appeared at major venues such as Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, and the Ravinia Festival, and have collaborated with many of the world's leading musicians. One of the highlights of Trio Lirico's career was their performance at the 2006 Newport Music Festival, where they received a standing ovation for their performance of Beethoven's "Archduke" Trio. They have also been featured on numerous radio and television programs, including NPR's "Performance Today" and WQXR's "The McGraw-Hill Companies Young Artists Showcase." In addition to their performances, Trio Lirico has also been recognized for their recordings. Their debut album, "Trio Lirico: Beethoven, Brahms, and Dvorak," was released in 2006 and received critical acclaim for its "passionate and insightful" performances. They have also recorded works by Schubert, Mendelssohn, and Shostakovich, among others. Trio Lirico has received numerous awards and honors throughout their career. In 2005, they were awarded the Chamber Music America Residency Partnership Grant, which allowed them to perform and teach in schools and community centers throughout the United States. They have also been awarded the Aaron Copland Fund for Music Recording Grant and the National Endowment for the Arts Recording Grant. Despite their individual successes, the members of Trio Lirico remain committed to their ensemble and to the art of chamber music. They continue to perform and record together, and are dedicated to sharing their love of music with audiences around the world.More....
