From a young age, Schietroma showed a natural talent for music, and he began playing the piano at the age of four. Schietroma's parents recognized his talent and encouraged him to pursue a career in music. He began taking piano lessons with renowned pianist and teacher, Maria Tipo, at the age of six. Under her guidance, Schietroma developed a deep understanding of classical music and honed his skills as a pianist. At the age of 12, Schietroma made his debut as a soloist with the Rome Symphony Orchestra, performing Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 20 in D minor. The performance was a huge success, and Schietroma received critical acclaim for his virtuosic playing and musicality. Over the next few years, Schietroma continued to perform as a soloist with various orchestras in Italy and Europe. He also competed in several international piano competitions, winning numerous awards and prizes. In 2003, he won first prize at the International Piano Competition in Valencia, Spain, and in 2005, he won the prestigious Busoni International Piano Competition in Bolzano, Italy. In 2006, he was invited to perform with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Sir Simon Rattle. The performance was a turning point in Schietroma's career, and he was hailed as one of the most promising young pianists of his generation. In the years that followed, Schietroma continued to perform with some of the world's leading orchestras, including the New York Philharmonic, the London Symphony Orchestra, and the Vienna Philharmonic. Schietroma's repertoire is vast and includes works by some of the greatest composers in the classical music canon, such as Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, Liszt, and Rachmaninoff. He is particularly known for his interpretations of the music of Mozart and Schubert, which he performs with a rare combination of technical brilliance and emotional depth. In addition to his performances as a soloist, Schietroma is also an accomplished chamber musician. He has also been recognized for his contributions to the classical music world, receiving the prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant in 2009. Despite his success, Schietroma remains humble and dedicated to his craft. He continues to practice for hours every day, striving to perfect his technique and deepen his understanding of the music he plays. He is also committed to sharing his love of music with the next generation of musicians and frequently gives masterclasses and workshops to young pianists. In conclusion, Robert Schietroma is one of the most talented and accomplished classical pianists of his generation.
