Katrien Baerts is a Belgian soprano who has made a name for herself in the world of classical music. Born on December 17, 1976, in Hasselt, Belgium, Baerts grew up in a musical family. Her father was a conductor, and her mother was a pianist. From a young age, Baerts showed a keen interest in music and began taking piano lessons at the age of six. She studied at the Lemmensinstituut in Leuven, Belgium, where she received a degree in vocal performance. She then went on to study at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln in Germany, where she received a master's degree in opera. Baerts' career as a professional singer began in 2003 when she made her debut as Pamina in Mozart's "The Magic Flute" at the Flemish Opera in Antwerp.
