Robin May was born on June 12, 1985, in London, England. From a young age, May showed a keen interest in music, particularly classical music. His parents, both music enthusiasts, encouraged his passion and enrolled him in piano lessons at the age of six. May's talent for music quickly became apparent, and he began to excel in his piano studies. By the age of ten, he had already won several local competitions and had begun to perform in public.
