Mareike Jankowski is a renowned classical music artist who has made a name for herself in the world of music. Born on May 12, 1985, in Berlin, Germany, Mareike grew up in a family of musicians. Her father was a pianist, and her mother was a violinist. From a young age, Mareike was exposed to classical music and developed a passion for it. Mareike started playing the piano at the age of four and showed remarkable talent. She began taking piano lessons from her father and quickly progressed. By the age of ten, Mareike had already won several local piano competitions. Her parents recognized her talent and encouraged her to pursue a career in music. Mareike continued to study the piano and attended the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin, where she studied under the guidance of renowned pianist and professor Klaus Hellwig. During her time at the conservatory, Mareike honed her skills and developed her unique style of playing. In 2005, Mareike won the prestigious International Piano Competition in Santander, Spain. This was a significant achievement for her, and it opened up many doors for her career. Mareike began to receive invitations to perform at major concert halls around the world. One of Mareike's most significant performances was at the Berlin Philharmonic in 2008. She performed Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 5, also known as the "Emperor Concerto," with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Sir Simon Rattle. The performance was a huge success, and Mareike received a standing ovation from the audience. Mareike has also performed with other major orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra, the New York Philharmonic, and the Vienna Philharmonic. She has collaborated with many renowned conductors, including Daniel Barenboim, Zubin Mehta, and Riccardo Muti. In addition to her performances, Mareike is also a dedicated teacher. She has taught masterclasses at various music schools and conservatories around the world, including the Juilliard School in New York and the Royal Academy of Music in London. Mareike has received numerous awards and accolades throughout her career. In 2010, she was awarded the Echo Klassik Award for her recording of Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 4. She has also been awarded the Order of Merit of Berlin, one of the highest honors awarded by the city of Berlin.
