Role:EnsembleGenre:ConcertoThe Philharmonic Symphony of Moravia is a classical music ensemble based in the Moravian region of the Czech Republic. The ensemble was founded in 1945, shortly after the end of World War II, by a group of musicians who were eager to bring classical music to the people of Moravia. The founding members of the Philharmonic Symphony of Moravia were a diverse group of musicians, including both Czech and German musicians who had been living in the region before the war. They were united by their love of classical music and their desire to share it with others. In the early years of the ensemble, the Philharmonic Symphony of Moravia performed primarily in local venues, such as churches and community centers. However, as the ensemble's reputation grew, they began to perform in larger venues throughout the Czech Republic and beyond. One of the highlights of the Philharmonic Symphony of Moravia's early years was their performance at the Prague Spring International Music Festival in 1952. This prestigious festival, which was founded in 1946, showcases the best classical music ensembles from around the world. The Philharmonic Symphony of Moravia's performance at the festival was well-received, and helped to establish the ensemble as one of the premier classical music ensembles in the Czech Republic. Over the years, the Philharmonic Symphony of Moravia has undergone many changes in membership and leadership. However, the ensemble has always maintained a commitment to excellence in classical music performance. Today, the ensemble is led by conductor Petr Vronsky, who has been with the ensemble since 2001. One of the Philharmonic Symphony of Moravia's most notable performances in recent years was their 2015 performance of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony at the Smetana Hall in Prague. This performance was part of a larger celebration of the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II, and was attended by dignitaries from around the world. In addition to their many performances, the Philharmonic Symphony of Moravia has also received numerous awards and accolades over the years. In 1975, the ensemble was awarded the title of "Laureate of the Czechoslovak Radio" for their outstanding contributions to classical music. In 1995, the ensemble was awarded the "Golden Plaque of the City of Brno" for their contributions to the cultural life of the city. Today, the Philharmonic Symphony of Moravia continues to be one of the premier classical music ensembles in the Czech Republic. With a commitment to excellence in performance and a dedication to bringing classical music to audiences throughout the region, the ensemble is sure to continue to delight audiences for many years to come.More....
