Csilla Gulyás is a Hungarian classical music artist who has made a name for herself as a pianist and chamber musician. Born on May 5, 1985, in Budapest, Hungary, Gulyás showed an early interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of six. She quickly demonstrated a natural talent for the instrument and began taking lessons with renowned Hungarian pianist and teacher, Zsuzsa Esztó. Gulyás continued her musical education at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, where she studied under the guidance of professors such as György Nádor and Balázs Szokolay. During her time at the academy, Gulyás won several awards and competitions, including the National Piano Competition for Young Musicians and the International Piano Competition in Rome. After completing her studies at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music, Gulyás continued her education at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hamburg, Germany, where she studied with pianist and pedagogue, Volker Banfield. During her time in Hamburg, Gulyás honed her skills as a chamber musician and collaborated with several renowned musicians, including violinist Isabelle Faust and cellist Jean-Guihen Queyras. Gulyás has since established herself as a highly sought-after pianist and chamber musician, performing at major concert halls and festivals around the world. Some of her most notable performances include appearances at the Salzburg Festival, the Lucerne Festival, and the Berlin Philharmonic. She has also collaborated with several prominent orchestras, including the Budapest Festival Orchestra, the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, and the Orchestre de Paris. In addition to her performances, Gulyás is also a dedicated teacher and has taught masterclasses at several institutions, including the Franz Liszt Academy of Music and the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hamburg. She is also a member of the faculty at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, where she teaches piano and chamber music. Throughout her career, Gulyás has received numerous awards and accolades for her performances and recordings. In 2010, she was awarded the prestigious Echo Klassik award for her recording of Schumann's Piano Concerto with the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen.
