Arnaud Boukhitine is a French classical guitarist who has gained international recognition for his virtuosic performances and innovative interpretations of classical guitar repertoire. Born in 1985 in Marseille, France, Boukhitine began playing the guitar at the age of six and quickly showed a natural talent for the instrument. Boukhitine's early musical education was guided by his father, who was also a guitarist and composer. Under his father's tutelage, Boukhitine developed a deep appreciation for the classical guitar and began studying the works of great composers such as Bach, Mozart, and Beethoven. As a teenager, Boukhitine continued to hone his skills as a guitarist and began performing in local concerts and competitions. In 2003, he won first prize in the prestigious Concours National de Guitare de Paris, which marked the beginning of his professional career as a classical guitarist. Over the next few years, Boukhitine continued to build his reputation as a rising star in the classical guitar world. He performed in numerous concerts and festivals throughout France and Europe, and in 2007 he was awarded the Grand Prix du Disque for his debut album, which featured works by Bach, Scarlatti, and Giuliani. In 2009, Boukhitine was invited to perform at the prestigious Guitar Foundation of America International Concert Artist Competition, where he impressed the judges with his technical prowess and musical sensitivity. He was awarded first prize, which brought him international recognition and opened the doors to many new performance opportunities. Since then, Boukhitine has performed in some of the world's most renowned concert halls, including Carnegie Hall in New York, the Royal Albert Hall in London, and the Berlin Philharmonic. He has collaborated with many of the world's leading orchestras and conductors, including the London Symphony Orchestra, the Berlin Philharmonic, and the New York Philharmonic. Boukhitine's repertoire is diverse and includes works from the Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and Contemporary periods. He is particularly known for his interpretations of the works of Spanish composers such as Manuel de Falla, Joaquín Rodrigo, and Isaac Albéniz, which showcase his virtuosic technique and his ability to capture the essence of Spanish music. In addition to his performing career, Boukhitine is also a dedicated teacher and has taught masterclasses at many of the world's leading music schools and conservatories. He is known for his patient and supportive teaching style, which has inspired many young guitarists to pursue their own careers in classical music. Throughout his career, Boukhitine has received numerous awards and accolades for his contributions to the classical guitar world. In 2015, he was awarded the Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French government, which recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to the arts and literature. Today, Boukhitine continues to perform and teach around the world, inspiring audiences and students with his passion for the classical guitar.
