The Horn Quartet of the Radio Symphony Orchestra, Leipzig is a classical music ensemble that has gained worldwide recognition for its exceptional performances. The quartet was founded in 1985 by four horn players from the Radio Symphony Orchestra, Leipzig, namely, Klaus Wallendorf, Froydis Ree Wekre, Marie-Luise Neunecker, and Stefan Dohr. The founding members of the Horn Quartet of the Radio Symphony Orchestra, Leipzig are all accomplished musicians in their own right. Klaus Wallendorf, who is the first horn player of the Berlin Philharmonic, has won numerous awards for his performances and recordings. Froydis Ree Wekre, a Norwegian horn player, has also won several awards and is known for her unique sound and interpretation of classical music. Marie-Luise Neunecker, a German horn player, is a professor at the Hanns Eisler School of Music in Berlin and has performed with many renowned orchestras around the world. Stefan Dohr, who is the principal horn player of the Berlin Philharmonic, is also a professor at the Hanns Eisler School of Music in Berlin and has won several awards for his performances and recordings. The Horn Quartet of the Radio Symphony Orchestra, Leipzig has performed in many prestigious venues around the world, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the Royal Albert Hall in London, and the Carnegie Hall in New York. The quartet has also collaborated with many renowned musicians, including pianist Martha Argerich and conductor Sir Simon Rattle.
