He was born into a family of musicians, and his father was a well-known composer and conductor. From a young age, Vazgen showed a keen interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of six. Vazgen's talent was quickly recognized, and he was accepted into the Tchaikovsky Music School in Yerevan. He studied under the guidance of renowned pianist and teacher, Levon Malkhasyan, and quickly became one of his star pupils. Vazgen's dedication and hard work paid off, and he graduated from the music school with honors. After completing his studies, Vazgen began performing in concerts and recitals throughout Armenia. His performances were well-received, and he quickly gained a reputation as a talented and skilled pianist. In 1981, Vazgen won first prize at the All-Union Piano Competition in Moscow, which was a major milestone in his career. Following his success in Moscow, Vazgen was invited to perform in concerts and festivals throughout Europe and the United States. He performed in some of the world's most prestigious concert halls, including Carnegie Hall in New York and the Royal Albert Hall in London. His performances were always well-received, and he quickly gained a reputation as one of the world's leading classical pianists. Throughout his career, Vazgen was known for his technical skill and his ability to bring out the emotional depth of the music he played. He was particularly renowned for his interpretations of the works of Chopin, Beethoven, and Rachmaninoff.
