She was the daughter of a famous Italian composer, Gino Marinuzzi, and a soprano, Maria Borelli. Her parents' musical background played a significant role in shaping her career as a musician. In 1962, she was awarded the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic for her contributions to music. Borelli's career spanned several decades, and she continued to perform well into her later years. In 1992, she performed in a production of Verdi's La Traviata at the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma, marking the 40th anniversary of her debut at the opera house.
