Cantate Youth Choir is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 1999 in the United Kingdom. The choir is made up of young singers between the ages of 13 and 19 who are passionate about choral music and dedicated to achieving excellence in their performances. The choir was founded by conductor and music educator, Michael Kibblewhite, who saw a need for a high-quality youth choir in the area. Kibblewhite had previously worked with the National Youth Choir of Great Britain and wanted to create a similar experience for young singers in his local community. From its early days, Cantate Youth Choir quickly gained a reputation for excellence in choral music. The choir's members are selected through a rigorous audition process and are expected to maintain a high level of commitment and dedication to their craft. Over the years, Cantate Youth Choir has performed at some of the most prestigious venues in the UK and abroad. The choir has performed at the Royal Albert Hall, St. Paul's Cathedral, and Westminster Abbey, among others. The choir has also toured internationally, performing in countries such as France, Germany, and Italy. One of the highlights of Cantate Youth Choir's career was their performance at the 2012 Olympic Games in London. The choir was selected to perform at the opening ceremony of the Paralympic Games, where they sang the national anthem and performed a specially commissioned piece by composer Errollyn Wallen. Cantate Youth Choir has also been recognized for their excellence in choral music with numerous awards and accolades. In 2010, the choir won the BBC Radio 3 Choir of the Year competition, which is considered one of the most prestigious choral competitions in the UK.
