She later went on to study at the Juilliard School of Music, where she received her Bachelor of Music degree. She continued her studies at the New England Conservatory of Music, where she earned her Master of Music degree. One of the highlights of Leventhal's career was her performance of the world premiere of John Harbison's Violin Concerto with the Boston Symphony Orchestra.
