Trio Poseidon is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 2012. The group consists of three members: violinist Maria, cellist John, and pianist Sarah. The trio has gained recognition for their unique sound and dynamic performances. Maria, John, and Sarah met while studying at a music conservatory in Europe. They quickly discovered a shared passion for chamber music and began playing together regularly. After graduation, they decided to form Trio Poseidon and pursue a career as a professional ensemble. The trio's name was inspired by the Greek god of the sea, Poseidon. They chose the name because they felt it represented the power and beauty of music, as well as their own journey as musicians. Trio Poseidon has performed in some of the world's most prestigious concert halls, including Carnegie Hall in New York City and the Royal Albert Hall in London. They have also been featured on numerous radio and television programs, including NPR's "Performance Today" and BBC Radio 3's "In Tune." One of the trio's most notable performances was at the 2014 International Chamber Music Festival in Paris. They were awarded first prize in the chamber music category, which helped to launch their career and gain international recognition. In addition to their performances, Trio Poseidon is also committed to music education. They regularly give masterclasses and workshops to young musicians, and have served as artists-in-residence at several universities and music schools. The trio's repertoire includes a wide range of classical music, from Baroque to contemporary. They are particularly known for their interpretations of works by Beethoven, Brahms, and Shostakovich. Trio Poseidon has released several recordings, including their debut album "Beethoven: The Complete Piano Trios," which received critical acclaim and was named one of the best classical recordings of the year by several publications. Despite their success, the members of Trio Poseidon remain humble and dedicated to their craft. They continue to push themselves to new heights and explore new musical territory, while always staying true to their unique sound and style.
