Braimah Kanneh-Mason is a British classical cellist who has gained international recognition for his exceptional talent and musical prowess. Born on September 13, 1997, in Nottingham, England, Braimah is the third of seven siblings, all of whom are musically gifted. His parents, Stuart Mason and Kadiatu Kanneh, are both from Sierra Leone and have been instrumental in nurturing their children's musical talents. Braimah's love for music began at a young age, and he started playing the cello when he was six years old. He received his early music education at the Royal Academy of Music in London, where he studied under the tutelage of renowned cellist Ben Davies. Braimah's exceptional talent was evident from an early age, and he quickly rose through the ranks to become one of the most promising young cellists in the country. In 2015, Braimah won the BBC Young Musician of the Year competition, which is one of the most prestigious music competitions in the world. He was only 18 years old at the time, and his victory made him the first black musician to win the competition in its 36-year history.
