Klaartje van Veldhoven is a Dutch soprano and early music specialist who has gained international recognition for her performances of Baroque and Renaissance music. Born on May 22, 1977, in the city of Tilburg, Netherlands, Klaartje grew up in a musical family and began singing at a young age. She studied at the Conservatory of Amsterdam, where she received her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Classical Singing. Klaartje's interest in early music was sparked during her studies, and she began to focus on the performance of Baroque and Renaissance music. She trained with renowned early music specialists such as Jill Feldman and Peter Kooij, and also studied with the acclaimed soprano Barbara Schlick. Klaartje's career as a professional musician began in the early 2000s, and she quickly gained a reputation as a talented and versatile performer. She has performed with many of the leading early music ensembles in Europe, including the Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra, Les Arts Florissants, and the Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century. One of Klaartje's most notable performances was her portrayal of the title role in Handel's opera "Semele" with the Nederlandse Bachvereniging in 2011.
