His father was a violinist, and his mother was a pianist. Alexei grew up surrounded by music, and he started playing the piano at a very young age. Alexei's parents recognized his talent early on, and they encouraged him to pursue a career in music. He started taking piano lessons when he was just four years old, and he quickly showed a natural aptitude for the instrument. By the time he was six years old, he was already performing in public. As a child, Alexei was a prodigy, and he won numerous awards and competitions. He was a student at the Moscow Conservatory, where he studied under some of the most renowned piano teachers in the world. He was a dedicated student, and he spent countless hours practicing and perfecting his craft. In 2003, Alexei won the prestigious Tchaikovsky International Piano Competition. This was a major milestone in his career, and it brought him international recognition. He was only 18 years old at the time, and he was the youngest pianist ever to win the competition.
