Born on May 12, 1985, in Groningen, Netherlands, Veenhoff showed an early interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of six. She was a prodigious talent and quickly progressed, winning her first competition at the age of eight. Veenhoff's parents recognized her talent and encouraged her to pursue a career in music. She began taking lessons with renowned pianists and composers in the Netherlands and soon gained a reputation as a gifted performer. At the age of 14, she was accepted into the prestigious Royal Conservatory of The Hague, where she studied under the tutelage of renowned pianist and composer, Ton Hartsuiker. During her time at the conservatory, Veenhoff honed her skills as a pianist and composer, and also began conducting orchestras. She was a standout student and won numerous awards and accolades for her performances and compositions. In 2005, she graduated with honors and was awarded a scholarship to study at the Juilliard School in New York City. At Juilliard, Veenhoff continued to excel as a pianist and composer, and also began conducting larger orchestras. She studied under some of the most renowned musicians in the world, including Yoheved Kaplinsky, Robert Beaser, and Alan Gilbert. During her time at Juilliard, Veenhoff also performed in numerous concerts and recitals, both as a soloist and as part of an ensemble. After graduating from Juilliard in 2009, Veenhoff returned to the Netherlands and began building her career as a classical music artist. She quickly gained a reputation as a talented and versatile musician, and began performing in concerts and festivals throughout Europe and the United States. She also began composing music for films, television, and theater productions. One of Veenhoff's most notable performances was in 2012, when she performed as a soloist with the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra. The concert was a huge success, and Veenhoff received rave reviews for her performance. She was also awarded the prestigious Dutch Music Prize, which is given to the most promising young musicians in the Netherlands.
