Born on August 22, 1979, in Seoul, South Korea, Krueger grew up in a family of musicians. Her mother was a pianist, and her father was a conductor, so it was only natural that she would develop a love for music at a young age. Krueger began playing the cello at the age of four and quickly showed a natural talent for the instrument. She studied at the Yewon School of Arts in Seoul before moving to the United States to continue her education. She attended the Juilliard School in New York City, where she earned her Bachelor of Music degree under the tutelage of Joel Krosnick. After completing her studies at Juilliard, Krueger went on to earn her Master of Music degree from the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston. She also studied at the Hochschule für Musik in Berlin, Germany, where she worked with renowned cellist David Geringas. Krueger's talent as a cellist quickly caught the attention of the classical music world. She has performed as a soloist with numerous orchestras, including the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, the Boston Pops Orchestra, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and the New York Philharmonic. She has also performed at prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, and the Berlin Philharmonic. Krueger has won numerous awards and accolades throughout her career. In 2003, she was awarded the Avery Fisher Career Grant, which is given to outstanding instrumentalists who show great potential for a solo career.
