From a young age, Rundle showed a keen interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Rundle's parents recognized his talent and encouraged him to pursue a career in music. He began taking piano lessons with his father and quickly developed a passion for classical music. By the age of ten, Rundle had already performed in several concerts and had won several local competitions. In 1986, Rundle was accepted into the prestigious Royal Academy of Music in London. He studied under some of the most renowned piano teachers in the world, including Maria João Pires and Murray Perahia. During his time at the academy, Rundle won several awards and competitions, including the prestigious Royal Academy of Music Piano Prize. After graduating from the academy in 1992, Rundle began his professional career as a concert pianist. He quickly gained a reputation as one of the most talented and versatile pianists of his generation. He performed in some of the most prestigious concert halls in the world, including Carnegie Hall in New York, the Royal Albert Hall in London, and the Berlin Philharmonic. Rundle's repertoire was vast and included works by some of the greatest composers in history, including Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, and Mozart. He was particularly known for his interpretations of the works of Franz Liszt, and his performances of Liszt's piano concertos were considered some of the best in the world. In 1998, Rundle released his first solo album, which was met with critical acclaim. The album featured works by Chopin, Liszt, and Beethoven, and showcased Rundle's virtuosity and musicality. The album was a commercial success and helped to establish Rundle as one of the leading pianists of his generation. Over the years, Rundle continued to perform in concerts and festivals around the world. He collaborated with some of the most renowned conductors and orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra, the Berlin Philharmonic, and the New York Philharmonic. He also performed with some of the most talented musicians of his generation, including violinist Maxim Vengerov and cellist Yo-Yo Ma. In 2005, Rundle was awarded the prestigious International Classical Music Award for his recording of Liszt's piano concertos. The award recognized Rundle's exceptional talent and his contribution to the world of classical music. Throughout his career, Rundle remained committed to promoting classical music to a wider audience. He was a passionate advocate for music education and worked with several organizations to provide music education to underprivileged children. He also gave masterclasses and workshops to young musicians around the world, inspiring a new generation of pianists. Sadly, Rundle passed away in 2015 at the age of 40.
