Min Ji Kim is a South Korean classical pianist who has gained international recognition for her exceptional talent and musicality. Born on December 28, 1991, in Seoul, South Korea, Min Ji Kim showed an early interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Her parents recognized her talent and enrolled her in the Yewon School, a prestigious music school in Seoul, where she received her early musical training. At the age of 12, Min Ji Kim won first prize in the Korean National Music Competition, which marked the beginning of her successful career as a pianist. She continued her studies at the Seoul Arts High School and later at the Seoul National University, where she earned her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in piano performance. In 2013, Min Ji Kim moved to the United States to pursue further studies at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, where she studied with renowned pianist Wha Kyung Byun. In 2016, Min Ji Kim graduated from the New England Conservatory with a Graduate Diploma in piano performance and continued her studies at the Yale School of Music, where she earned her Artist Diploma in 2018. At Yale, she studied with renowned pianist Boris Berman and performed in numerous concerts and recitals. Throughout her career, Min Ji Kim has performed in some of the world's most prestigious concert halls, including Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, and the Seoul Arts Center. She has also collaborated with many renowned orchestras, including the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the New Haven Symphony Orchestra, and the Korean Symphony Orchestra. One of the highlights of Min Ji Kim's career was her performance at the 2015 International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow, where she was one of only two South Korean pianists to make it to the final round. Her performance of Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No. 1 impressed the judges and earned her a place among the top 30 pianists in the world.
