Thomas J. Kearns was born on May 12, 1975, in New York City. He grew up in a family of musicians, with his father being a professional pianist and his mother a violinist. From a young age, Kearns showed a natural talent for music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Kearns received his formal music education at the Juilliard School in New York City, where he studied under some of the most renowned classical musicians of the time. He graduated with a Bachelor of Music degree in 1997 and went on to pursue a career as a concert pianist.
