Annemarie Bohne was born on May 12, 1985, in Berlin, Germany. She grew up in a family of musicians, with her mother being a pianist and her father a cellist. From a young age, Annemarie showed a keen interest in music and began playing the violin at the age of four. Annemarie's parents recognized her talent and encouraged her to pursue a career in music. She began taking lessons with renowned violinists in Germany and quickly gained recognition for her exceptional talent. At the age of 12, she won first prize in the prestigious Jugend musiziert competition, which is one of the most important music competitions for young musicians in Germany. After completing her studies at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin, Annemarie went on to study with some of the most renowned violinists in the world, including Maxim Vengerov and Itzhak Perlman. She also attended masterclasses with other famous musicians such as Pinchas Zukerman and Midori. Annemarie's talent and hard work paid off when she won the first prize at the International Violin Competition in Indianapolis in 2006. This was a major achievement for Annemarie, as the competition is one of the most prestigious violin competitions in the world. Her performance was praised by the judges for its technical brilliance and emotional depth. Following her success in Indianapolis, Annemarie began to receive invitations to perform with some of the world's leading orchestras. She made her debut with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra in 2007, playing the Brahms Violin Concerto. Her performance was met with critical acclaim, and she was praised for her virtuosity and musicality. Annemarie's career continued to flourish, and she went on to perform with many other leading orchestras, including the New York Philharmonic, the London Symphony Orchestra, and the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. She also performed at major music festivals around the world, including the Salzburg Festival, the Edinburgh International Festival, and the BBC Proms. In addition to her performances as a soloist, Annemarie is also an accomplished chamber musician. She has performed with some of the world's leading chamber ensembles, including the Emerson String Quartet and the Guarneri Quartet. She is also a member of the Trio Bohne, which she formed with her sister, pianist Maria Bohne, and her brother, cellist Johannes Bohne. Annemarie has received many awards and honors throughout her career. In addition to her success at the Indianapolis Violin Competition, she has won first prize at the International Violin Competition in Montreal and the International Violin Competition in Hanover. She has also been awarded the prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant, which is given to outstanding young musicians who show exceptional promise for the future. Annemarie is known for her passionate and expressive playing, as well as her technical brilliance. She is admired by audiences and critics alike for her ability to bring out the emotional depth of the music she plays. Her repertoire is wide-ranging, and she is equally at home playing the works of Bach and Beethoven as she is playing contemporary music.
