He taught at several music schools and universities, including the Royal College of Music in Stockholm and the Juilliard School in New York. Marten's career was marked by several highlights and achievements. In 1990, he was awarded the Polar Music Prize, which is considered one of the most prestigious music awards in the world. The award recognized Marten's contribution to the world of classical music and his dedication to promoting the art form. In 2000, Marten was invited to perform at the Nobel Prize Concert in Stockholm, which was attended by the world's leading scientists, politicians, and intellectuals.
