He was born into a family of musicians, and his father was a well-known conductor. Enrico began playing the piano at a young age and showed exceptional talent. He received his first piano lessons from his mother, who was also a pianist. At the age of 10, Enrico gave his first public performance, and by the age of 14, he had won his first piano competition. He continued to study music and piano performance at the Conservatory of Trieste, where he was mentored by the famous pianist Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli. In 1955, Enrico won the prestigious Busoni International Piano Competition, which launched his career as a concert pianist. He went on to perform in major concert halls around the world, including Carnegie Hall in New York, the Royal Albert Hall in London, and the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. Enrico was known for his technical brilliance and his ability to bring out the emotional depth of the music he played. He was particularly renowned for his interpretations of the works of Chopin, Liszt, and Rachmaninoff. Throughout his career, Enrico collaborated with many of the world's leading orchestras, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the London Symphony Orchestra, and the New York Philharmonic. He also worked with many famous conductors, including Leonard Bernstein, Herbert von Karajan, and Claudio Abbado. Enrico recorded extensively throughout his career, and his recordings of the works of Chopin and Liszt are considered some of the finest ever made. He was awarded numerous prizes and accolades for his recordings, including the Grand Prix du Disque and the Edison Award. Enrico was also a dedicated teacher, and he taught at the Conservatory of Trieste for many years. He was known for his rigorous approach to teaching and for his ability to inspire his students to achieve their full potential. Enrico continued to perform and teach until his death in 2017 at the age of 82.
