Born in Helsinki in 1954, Raiskio began playing the piano at the age of six and quickly showed a natural talent for the instrument. She went on to study at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, where she received her diploma in piano performance in 1978. After completing her studies, Raiskio began performing extensively throughout Finland and Europe, both as a soloist and as a member of various chamber music ensembles. She quickly gained a reputation for her technical skill and musical sensitivity, and her performances were praised for their clarity, precision, and emotional depth. One of the highlights of Raiskio's early career was her performance of Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 4 with the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra in 1982. The performance was widely acclaimed, and Raiskio was praised for her "brilliant technique, impeccable phrasing, and deep understanding of the music." In the years that followed, Raiskio continued to perform regularly as a soloist and chamber musician, collaborating with some of the most renowned musicians of her time. She also began to teach, first at the Sibelius Academy and later at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hamburg, Germany. Throughout her career, Raiskio has been the recipient of numerous awards and honors. In 1983, she won first prize in the Maj Lind Piano Competition, one of the most prestigious music competitions in Finland. She has also been awarded the Pro Finlandia medal, the highest honor that can be bestowed upon a Finnish artist, and the Order of the Lion of Finland, a national honor recognizing outstanding contributions to Finnish culture. In addition to her performing and teaching career, Raiskio has also been active as a recording artist. She has recorded several albums of solo piano music, as well as chamber music recordings with various ensembles. Her recordings have been praised for their technical excellence and musical sensitivity, and have won several awards, including the Finnish Emma Award for Best Classical Album.
