Avalokite Duo is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 2016 by two talented musicians, cellist Mira Frisch and pianist Sasha Bult-Ito. The duo has quickly gained recognition for their unique and captivating performances, which showcase their exceptional musicianship and deep understanding of the classical repertoire. Mira Frisch, a native of Germany, began playing the cello at the age of six. She went on to study at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln and the Universität der Künste Berlin, where she received her Master of Music degree. Sasha Bult-Ito, originally from Japan, started playing the piano at the age of four. She studied at the Toho Gakuen School of Music in Tokyo and the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München, where she earned her Master of Music degree. The two musicians first met while studying at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln, and quickly discovered a shared passion for chamber music. They began performing together as a duo, and soon realized that they had a special musical connection that was both powerful and unique. They decided to form Avalokite Duo, with the goal of exploring the rich and diverse world of classical music through their shared love of chamber music. Since their founding, Avalokite Duo has performed at numerous prestigious venues and festivals throughout Europe and Asia, including the Beethovenfest Bonn, the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival, and the Yokohama International Music Festival. They have also collaborated with a number of renowned musicians, including violinist Christian Tetzlaff and clarinetist Sabine Meyer. One of the highlights of Avalokite Duo's career was their performance at the 2018 ARD International Music Competition in Munich, where they were awarded the prestigious Audience Prize. The competition, which is one of the most prestigious classical music competitions in the world, attracts some of the most talented young musicians from around the globe. Avalokite Duo's performance was widely praised for its technical precision, musicality, and emotional depth. In addition to their live performances, Avalokite Duo has also released several critically acclaimed recordings.
