Passionart Orchestra is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 2008 by conductor and pianist, Dr. Nima Hafezieh. The ensemble is based in Tehran, Iran, and is known for its unique blend of Western classical music and Persian traditional music. Dr. Hafezieh, who is also the artistic director of the ensemble, had a vision of creating a platform for young musicians in Iran to showcase their talents and collaborate with international artists. He gathered a group of talented musicians from different parts of Iran and formed the Passionart Orchestra. The ensemble's main members include violinists, violists, cellists, double bassists, flutists, oboists, clarinetists, bassoonists, horn players, trumpeters, trombonists, percussionists, and a harpist. The ensemble also collaborates with guest soloists and conductors from around the world. Passionart Orchestra has performed in numerous concerts and festivals in Iran and abroad. Some of the highlights of their major performances include their debut concert in Tehran in 2008, where they performed works by Mozart, Beethoven, and Tchaikovsky. In 2010, they performed at the Fajr International Music Festival in Tehran, where they received critical acclaim for their performance of Stravinsky's "The Rite of Spring." In 2012, Passionart Orchestra performed at the International Istanbul Music Festival in Turkey, where they collaborated with Turkish musicians and performed works by Bach, Vivaldi, and Piazzolla. The same year, they also performed at the International Festival of Sacred Music in Rome, Italy, where they performed works by Handel, Mozart, and Verdi. In 2014, Passionart Orchestra performed at the International Festival of Classical Music in Vienna, Austria, where they received a standing ovation for their performance of Beethoven's Symphony No. 9. The same year, they also performed at the International Festival of Music and Dance in Granada, Spain, where they collaborated with Spanish flamenco dancers and performed works by Albeniz and De Falla. Passionart Orchestra has also received numerous awards and recognitions for their performances. In 2011, they received the Best Orchestra Award at the Fajr International Music Festival in Tehran. In 2013, they received the Best Performance Award at the International Festival of Sacred Music in Rome, Italy. In 2015, they received the Best Ensemble Award at the International Festival of Classical Music in Vienna, Austria. Apart from their performances, Passionart Orchestra is also involved in music education and outreach programs. They conduct workshops and masterclasses for young musicians in Iran and collaborate with schools and universities to promote classical music education.
