Ursula Hesse von den Steinen is a renowned classical music artist who has made a significant contribution to the world of music. Born on December 22, 1959, in Germany, Ursula showed an early interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of six. Her parents recognized her talent and encouraged her to pursue music as a career. Ursula's musical education began at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hannover, where she studied under the guidance of Professor Karl-Heinz Kämmerling. She later continued her studies at the Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria, where she received a diploma in piano performance. Throughout her career, Ursula has performed in numerous concerts and recitals, both as a soloist and as part of an ensemble. She has collaborated with many renowned musicians, including the cellist Heinrich Schiff, the violinist Thomas Zehetmair, and the conductor Sir Neville Marriner. One of Ursula's most notable performances was at the Salzburg Festival in 1985, where she played Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 23 in A major with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. Her performance was widely praised by critics, who noted her technical skill and musical sensitivity. In 1983, she won first prize at the International Piano Competition in Senigallia, Italy. She was also a finalist in the prestigious Leeds International Piano Competition in 1984. Her recording of Mozart's Piano Concertos Nos. 20 and 27 with the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields, conducted by Sir Neville Marriner, was awarded the Grand Prix du Disque in 1987. She has served as a jury member for several international piano competitions, including the Clara Haskil International Piano Competition in Switzerland and the International Beethoven Piano Competition in Vienna.
