Orquesta Sinfónica Carlos Chávez is a classical music ensemble based in Mexico City, Mexico. The orchestra was founded in 1978 by the Mexican composer Carlos Chávez, who served as its first music director until his death in 1978. The ensemble is named after Chávez in recognition of his contributions to Mexican music and culture.
